13 HANDS / NOMADYOGA
Bringing Music, Yoga and Health n' Wellness to the Universe
THE 13 HANDS OF YOGA
DALIEN, E-RYT 500, Professor of Yoga at Montclair State University, lecturer, Sound Healer and Grammy nominated singer-songwriter / world musician / kirtan artist.
A student once described DALIEN’s teaching style as “a modern day Swami Satchinanda meets Robin Williams and John Lennon”. He integrates Iyengar, Anusara-inspired, Restorative, Vini and Chakra based Yoga sequencing with a “realistic” approach. With a joyful sense of humor and life insights from his “near death” life journey, he weaves the ancient teachings as to make them applicable for modern living. He holds an E-RYT 500 through the Yoga Alliance and serves as adjunct Professor of Yoga at Montclair State University as well as an adjunct teacher at Ananda Ashram and with their teacher training program. He has over 16 years of study with master Iyengar and various styled teachers and various workshop study with John Friend, Doug Keller & Gabriel Halpern, to name a few
He is especially reknown for bringing “sound meditation” into the yoga classrooms, in schools, work environments and in therapeutic arenas as to facilitate an experience of Yoga Nidra, or Theta consciousness. This relaxed state within the nervous system is where the mind has the ability to release deeper levels of past/present physical and emotional stress and discomfort. Through the use of live, native flutes, hang drum, chant, sacred percussion or whatever instruments he might have with him, students are transported to this balanced state within the mind and leave with a sense of feeling integrated, centered and more open on the physical and emotional levels.
His extensive background in Yoga, shamanism, sound/vibrational health applications, marital arts, holistic living and personal growth is an integration of a 20 year life journey having overcome serious Head Trauma, his father’s death in a plane crash, Chrons Disease, Jaundice, Epstein Barr, Chronic Fatigue, Severe Depression, chronic respiratory problems and various, immune complications earlier on in his life.
DALIEN’s amazing recovery was due to the help of 27 alternative health practioners and a 7 year “healing lockdown” with a commitment to Yoga, Ayurvedic practices, Organic/ Raw/Juicing foods lifestyle, Chiropractic, Thai Yoga Massage, Martial Arts Reflexology, Vibrational Healing, Acupuncture, and Shamanism study with his two mentors, Jyoti Chrystal and Jason Martin, who studied for 30 years with their Master Peruvian Shaman teacher, Don Augustin Riveras. His background is rounded out with over 10 years of sound/vibrational healing work, Native American study as a yearly participant in Sun-Moon Spirit Dancing, previous study of Qigong and Kung Fu with SiFu Shi Yan Ming, a 34th generation Shaolin Monk, Ayurvedic courses, an active member of the Sound Healers Association and attended the Hippocrates Living/Raw Foods program.
Today he speaks, teaches, performs, inspires, educates, sprout farms and provides workshops, seminars and assemblies in public schools, yoga centers, nursing homes, private autism students, teacher training programs and other health, mind/body personal development services. His experience, loving and humorous approach and “real-life” wisdom make him an informative, authentic and respected teacher.

1. Type the word YOGA in a web browser to get acquainted with this 5000 + year
old practice... give yourself a good 50 years to explore.
WELCOME ABOARD & ENJOY YOUR RIDE!
2. SVADHYAYA - In my opinion, the most important concept you'll ever
take away from the practice of yoga. It is a defined as a committment
to the observation of oneself, self-study, self-reflection as a means for
self-improvement, improved health, and improved relationships with
oneself, others and for living in harmony with all living beings.
3. There are many schools and systems/styles of yoga. You are the
seeker and must figure out what path feels right for you... no teacher
can give you that. You wil be shown many doors - only you know
which door is for you. Trust your inner voice at all times when deciding
upon a teacher or style of yoga to study.
4. If you want to put your foot behind your neck and the other up your
_______ in order to declare yourself a yoga master; just be sure you
know why your EGO wants to put your foot there in the first place.
5. Master your heart and you master your life...Master your colon and you
really master your life....DUMP YOUR WAY TO ENLIGHTENMENT
6. YOGA can compliment your religious beliefs, not interfere with them.
God, or whatever you define to be source, wants you to exercise,
meditate and calm the heck down so you be the healthiest, connected
and happiest person you can be. That idea is relative to all the worlds'
religions, NOT EXCLUSIVE TO JUST ONE
7. What works for you may not work for another, so don't push your beliefs,
share them with a smile.
8. Be mindful of "spiritual or philosophical regurgitators" Put noone on a
pedalstal except yourself. Align with those who WALK THEIR TALK.
Keep loving and healthy boundaries with people who tell you what to do, study or follow but don't always live in integrity with the teachings they teach.
The true Yoga is an on-going integration to cultivate self-awareness.
9. DIRECT EXPERIENCE is more powerful than any book or teaching you will
ever read
10. SMILE, it's always going to be alright!
11. Two words for you.... pancha karma :)
12. "You only know what you know when you know it and can only act
how you act based from what you know or have seen" - DALIEN
13. "Don't let your anger and pride get in the way of the love you truly feel for
someone; harsh words can be forgiven if you truly accept and love the divine nature in that person. Come to appreciate the people who love & respect you enough to act authentically and honestly with you;
If you truly love someone, then you love them; CASE CLOSED.
It's not CONDITIONAL...unconditional love
13 1/2 You become the embodiment of love when you lose someone that you have loved more than you love yourself.
